About Alaskan NW Adventures

Alaskan NW Adventures is owned by Tom Gray, raised on the Seward Peninsula, who has fished the Niukluk River system since the early 1970s. A licensed tour guide who once ran a reindeer herd, Gray serves as President of the Alaska Beluga Whale Committee; his wife BJ co-hosts guests at their Arctic lodge on the Niukluk near Nome, a 1980-built lodge that began as a subsistence camp.

The operation runs trophy fishing for king, chum, sockeye, and silver salmon, Arctic grayling, northern pike, and Dolly Varden, plus grizzly hunts and eco-cultural tours, capped at ten guests and grounded in subsistence traditions — harvesting by nature's clock.
