Chilkoot Salmon Charters
Chilkoot Inlet is the saltwater approach to Haines at the northern end of the Inside Passage, where king salmon are targeted from May through June and silver salmon move through in August and September. Chilkoot Lake and the Chilkoot River, located 10 miles north of Haines, receive runs of all five Pacific salmon species and are a well-known fall sockeye and coho destination. The area's proximity to the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve adds a wildlife dimension rare in other Southeast Alaska fishing areas.

Lynn Canal Sport Fishing
Lynn Canal is the longest and deepest fjord in North America, stretching roughly 90 miles from Skagway south to Juneau, and Haines sits at its northern head where the Chilkat River delivers one of the larger king salmon runs in Southeast Alaska. Saltwater charters out of Haines target halibut and kings in spring, with pinks and chums through July and silvers in August and September, against a backdrop of glacier-draped mountain ranges dropping directly into the water. Freshwater options on the Chilkat and Chilkoot rivers extend the season and species range considerably.
