Family Air Tours pairs a Ketchikan floatplane operation with The Hook Up Fly Shop on Tongass Avenue, and says it has spent over 24 years flying anglers into Southeast Alaska's best fishing. It was founded by Dave Rocke — 'Uncle Dave' — who guided Alaska fishing beginning in 1982, earned his pilot licenses in the late 1980s, and spent nine years at Taquan Air, rising from line pilot to chief pilot and director of operations. He passed away in May 2024.
Owner-pilot Jim Davis carries the operation on: a Florida-raised angler who got his start flying fishermen to the Bahamas, later flew Bristol Bay and the Yukon Delta, and joined the company in 2021. Trips include fly-out fly fishing, Forest Service cabin drops, Misty Fjords flightseeing, and Anan bear viewing.
