Knudson Cove Marina has operated since the 1940s, when it began on a single float, and sits 15 miles north of downtown Ketchikan on the edge of the Tongass. It has grown into a full waterfront operation: 130 moorage slips, a tackle shop, fuel service, freezer space, three cabins and other lodging, plus the Barn Door Eatery on site.
For anglers it books guided salmon and halibut charters and rents everything from skiffs to hardtops for do-it-yourself fishing, with kayak rentals and airport shuttles rounding things out. The marina says some guests have been coming back for up to 30 years in a row.
