Lakeview Outfitters

Lakeview Outfitters is a guide-owned fly shop and outfitter in Cooper Landing, founded in 2015 and owned by Phil Hilbruner, an Oregon-raised angler who learned to fly fish near Mt. Hood, moved to Alaska in 2005, and has guided the Kenai River for over 13 years. Guide and shop manager Carolyn Knapper brings a salmon-biology background and over a decade of fisheries work across Canada and Alaska.

The operation guides fly fishing for trout, salmon, and steelhead on the Kenai and nearby waters with a catch-and-release, conservation-first ethic — barbless flies only, Streamwatch volunteering, and women's programs like Ladies Trout Nights.
