About Mike's Guide Service

Mike's Guide Service is run by Captain Mike Wheat, who grew up on the banks of the Kenai River, bought his first boat at 14, and became a licensed guide in 1995 at age 17, starting out running drift-boat charters. He is US Coast Guard licensed and insured, and now operates a drift boat, a power boat, and a saltwater vessel, with a specialty in long-range multi-species saltwater trips for anglers of all experience and age levels.

Longtime friend Ryan Townsend, born in Soldotna, deckhands in season and teaches biology in North Dakota the rest of the year.
