Sitka Sea Level Adventures is a family-run operation founded by Captain Jaren Sumauang, who runs it with his older brother Brody. Both are lifelong Sitkans who grew up in commercial fishing — Jaren started at 13 in the seine and gillnet fisheries and Bristol Bay sockeye runs and holds a USCG 100-ton Master license; Brody spent summers on their father's salmon troller, was a licensed captain by 19, and still runs the F/V Judi Kay seasonally.
The company offers wildlife-focused excursions and guided salmon fishing in Sitka Sound from two heated-cabin boats — the 29-foot Full Nelson and the 27-foot Judi Kay — welcoming everyone from beginners to experienced anglers.
