The Bites On

The Bites On is Capt. Clay Slanaker's private charter operation in Ketchikan, built on more than 30 years of fishing experience in local Southeast Alaska waters. Trips run aboard the Killin' Time, a 31-foot Silverton with twin Chevy 350s that fishes four to six guests comfortably, targeting salmon, halibut, and rockfish, with crabbing and wildlife-viewing sightseeing trips also on the menu.

Slanaker customizes trips for anglers of all ages and abilities — families with children welcome — fishing personal spots found over the years, and backs cruise passengers with a promise to cover airfare to the next port if a missed ship departure is his fault.
