Chignik, Alaska

Chignik is a small Alaska Airlines-served community on the Alaska Peninsula known for exceptional sockeye salmon runs through Chignik Lake and Chignik Lagoon. Brown bear hunting is outstanding — the Alaska Peninsula has some of the largest brown bears in the world. King salmon, coho, halibut, and Pacific cod are also available offshore. Hunting seasons include brown bear (spring and fall), caribou, and ptarmigan.
