Fly-in Kodiak refuge hunting camp run by Clay Roberts, with spot-and-stalk brown bear, mountain goat and Sitka blacktail hunts from heated cabins.

Big Wild Outfitters, operated by Clay Roberts, runs exclusive guided hunts inside the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge from a fly-in base camp in a secluded bay on Kodiak Island, where three insulated, heated cabins sit fifty yards off the ocean beach with 2,000–3,000-foot peaks in every direction. The camp is reachable only by seaplane from the city of Kodiak.
Hunts include twelve-day spot-and-stalk brown bear trips plus six-day mountain goat and five-day Sitka blacktail deer hunts, run from base camp with home-cooked meals or from spike camps deeper in the wilderness.
Background as described by the operator on their own website.
Alaska hunting seasons vary significantly by Game Management Unit and species. Confirm current seasons with ADF&G and book well in advance — quality outfitters fill 6–18 months ahead for peak species. Non-residents must be accompanied by a licensed guide or qualifying Alaska resident for most big game species.
