Kokanee Guide Service is run by Justin Dubay, who came to Alaska in 1995 after four years in the military to build a career as a hunting guide and commercial fisherman. He has more than 23 years of professional guiding behind him, holds wilderness first responder certification with first aid, CPR, and rescue training, and belongs to the Wild Sheep Foundation, the Alaska Professional Hunters Association, and Safari Club International.
The operation runs backcountry backpack hunts of ten to fourteen days for Dall sheep, moose, and caribou in the Alaska Range southwest of Denali (units 16 and 19), spring grizzly, brown bear on Unimak Island, and Kodiak bear. Dubay puts his emphasis on safety, conservation, and sustainable wildlife populations.
