About Litzen Guide Service
Litzen Guide Service is run by Michael Litzen, an Alaska Master Guide whose family moved from Washington State to Alaska in the late 1960s and who was raised hunting, fishing, and flying. He started as an assistant guide in 1980 and established his own operation shortly thereafter. He is also a commercial pilot with more than 45 years of bush flying experience, holding multi-engine and instrument ratings.
The outfit hunts brown bear from a 65-foot boat that serves as a floating lodge along 75 miles of Alaska Peninsula coastline, glassing the beaches and hills and stalking by skiff, and guides moose, Dall sheep, grizzly, caribou, and other species in the Interior near Denali and the western Alaska Range. Litzen personally oversees the details of each hunt and lives in Nikiski with his wife and three children.
