Small family outfit under Cordova Master Guide Dennis Zadra since 1996, hunting mobile tent camps across 2.5 million acres of the Chugach.

Dennis Zadra started Lonesome Dove Outfitters in 1996 after beginning his guiding career in Colorado in 1984 and working Bering Sea crab and Copper River salmon boats along the way. Based in Cordova, he earned his Alaska Master Guide license (#182) in 2010 and also holds a Coast Guard OUPV license. His wife Alicia is instrumental in the business, and together they also run a direct-market salmon company.
The outfit is deliberately small and family-run, hunting from comfortable tent camps that move frequently to stay on game, under a special use permit covering roughly 2.5 million acres of the Chugach National Forest.
Background as described by the operator on their own website.
Alaska hunting seasons vary significantly by Game Management Unit and species. Confirm current seasons with ADF&G and book well in advance — quality outfitters fill 6–18 months ahead for peak species. Non-residents must be accompanied by a licensed guide or qualifying Alaska resident for most big game species.
