Bear Paw Adventure

Bear Paw Adventure is the Ogle family's 14-acre homestead near Anchor Point on the Kenai Peninsula, operating since 1995 (it began as Bear Paw Charters). John Ogle Jr., in Alaska since 1986, is a carpenter, log cabin and furniture builder, retired commercial fisherman, and sportfishing guide; his father John Sr. joined the venture after a career as a professional engineer.

Guests stay in four handcrafted log buildings built from beetle-killed trees — the Bear Den, Wise Old Hunter Lodge, Moose Cabin, and Captain Cook Lodge — and can add halibut and salmon fishing, glacier visits, and other guided outings. The family's ethic: take only memories, leave only footprints.
