About Chena Hot Springs Resort

Chena Hot Springs Resort grew up around geothermal springs discovered in 1905 at the end of Chena Hot Springs Road outside Fairbanks. The property was purchased from the State of Alaska in 1998, and since 2016 it has been 100 percent employee-owned through an employee stock ownership plan.

Guests soak in the hot springs year-round, ride out to Charlie Dome for northern lights viewing, and stay in lodge rooms, cabins, or yurts, with a restaurant, massage services, and summer hiking and ATV tours. The resort runs on its own geothermal power plant and grows produce in three year-round geothermally heated greenhouses.
