Tanaku Lodge is owned by Dennis and Susan Meier, both veterans of long careers with Marriott hotels, in partnership since 1995 with Jim and Christy Benton. Jim has fished Southeast Alaska since 1980 and guided professionally for over a decade; Christy has chased salmon, halibut, and blackcod across the region since 1993. The Meiers' son Hayden, who started at the lodge as a high-school deckhand, now manages it with his wife Kaitlin and captains one of the boats.
The lodge runs all-inclusive fishing packages out of Elfin Cove with a roster of captains that includes guides with decades on these waters, targeting king salmon and other Southeast species from multiple boats.
