About Katmai Trophy Lodge

James Johnson has owned and managed Katmai Trophy Lodge since 2016. The lodge sits on the Naknek River in Bristol Bay, about two miles outside the Katmai National Park boundary, and specializes in fly fishing for ocean-fresh sockeye and for rainbow trout and char the site says grow well over 30 inches.

The guide crew includes head guide Dylan Dehning and several captains from Michigan, Montana, and New York, some of whom have guided for the Johnsons for more than ten years. Packages include guides, meals, flies and tackle, catch processing, and a trip into Katmai National Park.
