Sure-Strike Lodge has been in operation since 1994, two miles south of Craig on the west side of Prince of Wales Island. The lodge keeps guest numbers small and fishes for king salmon by mooching, along with halibut and other bottomfish, in waters fed by heavy concentrations of herring and candlefish. Trips run on 25–28-foot aluminum boats carrying two to four anglers each, and the crew's stated approach is a willingness to go the extra mile and get off the beaten track for its guests.
