Seldovia is a quiet waterfront community of around 300 people across Kachemak Bay from Homer, accessible by daily ferry or floatplane. The community retains the character of old Alaska fishing villages. Halibut fishing in Kachemak Bay and lower Cook Inlet is excellent, and Dungeness crab are available seasonally. The surrounding forests and coastline offer bear, moose, and ptarmigan hunting.
