Alaska Seabird Charters

Alaska Seabird Charters is run by Capt. John Maniscalco, a marine biologist with a B.S. in biology, an M.S. in fisheries, and a Ph.D. in marine biology from the University of Alaska. He has held an Alaska captain's license since 1992, has operated vessels along the Kenai Fjords coast since 1999, and has been a research scientist at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward since 2000, with more than two dozen peer-reviewed publications and Coast Guard service dating to 1985.

Aboard the M/V Kimu he runs personalized single-day and multi-day cruises for two to six guests — built for serious birders but welcoming casual birders, whale watchers, and glacier lovers — plus support cruises for scientific research missions.
