Big Reid Guide Service is a family-owned operation run by the Reid family from the banks of the Kenai River. Capt. Adam Reid guides the river's salmon runs — kings in June and July, sockeye from late July into August, then silvers, pinks, rainbow trout, and Dolly Varden through September — and once guided an angler to the world-record 4-lb-line-class sockeye salmon.
The service encourages catch-and-release on big kings to help sustain the fishery, helps clients pick the right weeks for the fish they want, and can also point trips toward area saltwater halibut fishing and Kenai Peninsula waterfowl hunts.
