Crackerjack Sportfishing Charters

Crackerjack Sportfishing is owned by Captain Nik Ranta, a USCG-licensed master and IGFA-certified captain with more than 25 years of Kenai Peninsula fishing experience, a year-round Seward resident who also works as a maritime safety training instructor. He runs the Crackerjack Voyager, and Captain Jeff Seward — 18 years with the company, 14 of them as captain — is a fixture of a fleet that includes the Voyager, Crackerjack, and Graylight.

Trips out of Seward target halibut, salmon, rockfish, and lingcod, and the company says its guests have broken more than 30 IGFA line-class world records over the past two decades. Both captains advocate catch-and-release and stewardship of the fishery, and the boats also run sightseeing and marine research charters.
