Fishology Alaska

Fishology Alaska is run by Mark Wackler, who grew up in Soldotna on the Kenai River and started guiding at 17, keeping at it every summer through college while earning a bachelor's degree in fisheries sciences and a master's in science education. He now raises his own family in Soldotna.

The operation guides the Kenai and Kasilof rivers for sockeye, silver, king, and pink salmon and rainbow trout, and arranges saltwater trips out of Ninilchik, Homer, and Seward for halibut, rockfish, lingcod, and cod, plus fly-out days with bear viewing. Trips lean on customization, local knowledge, and keeping it fun.
