Greatland Guide Service is the small family business of Alan and Maria Goins. Alan has lived in Alaska since 1970, grew up commercial and sport fishing Cook Inlet alongside his father, and has run charters since 1991; Maria was born in Kenai and raised in Soldotna, and their three kids grew up around the operation.
Halibut charters launch from Deep Creek and Anchor Point near Ninilchik aboard the Greatlander, a 28-foot boat with twin 250 hp Suzukis and Penn International reels. The Goins lean on word of mouth and like to say people come as clients and leave as lifelong friends.
