Kachemak Charters is run by Jim and Denise. Jim has piloted Cook Inlet waters since 1985, earned his 100-ton Masters license in 1990, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the cutter Sedge out of Homer; after guiding and chartering in the Homer area earlier in his career, he has returned to the water, picking up where he left off. Denise co-owns the business and manages operations, with her own fishing and hunting background across the western U.S., Canada, and Alaska.
Trips are affordable small-group runs for halibut, lingcod, and rockfish aboard the Stella, ranging from Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet to the Barren Islands and Kodiak archipelago — fun, done safely.
