Key-O's has been family owned and operated on the Kenai Peninsula for more than 40 years. Founder Lynn Keogh, born and raised in Alaska, started the operation at 18, launching a 17-foot boat off his truck every day and working out his own techniques. He still guides the Kenai and Kasilof rivers and holds a State of Alaska registered hunting guide license; he and his wife Merry raised three children in the business, and all three now hold Coast Guard captain's licenses.
From a charter office at mile 140 of the Sterling Highway just south of Ninilchik, the family runs saltwater halibut and salmon charters, freshwater river trips, razor clamming and bear viewing, with crews that are drug tested and CPR/first aid certified.
