Mary Time Charters is run by Doug and Mary Blossom out of Ninilchik. Doug is a lifelong Alaskan raised on the Kenai Peninsula who commercial-fished Cook Inlet for salmon and halibut, has run boats on the inlet for over 40 years and holds a 100-ton near-coastal master's license. Son Boomer, a fourth-generation Alaskan fisherman and Anchorage firefighter/paramedic, captains alongside him, as does Eric Skjold, with 37 years working inlet waters.
The outfit fishes halibut and trolls the Cook Inlet beaches off Deep Creek and Ninilchik for king salmon, runs full-day Kenai River salmon trips and digs razor clams on the inlet's east side, working from two custom-built heated boats with indoor heads — the 32-foot Redeemer and 33-foot Devotion.
