Talkeetna Fly Fishing Expeditions

Talkeetna Fly Fishing Expeditions is run by Capt. Peter B. Mathiesen, a year-round Talkeetna resident with over 20 years fishing, floating, and jet-boating remote Alaska waters and more than ten seasons focused on the Talkeetna area. He holds an active U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton Master's license plus wilderness first aid and CPR certifications, fished on the 2002 Columbia World Fly Fishing Team, and started out guiding steelhead on Michigan's Pere Marquette.

Trips target wild trout and salmon in the northern Susitna Valley at the base of Denali, reached on foot, by Land Rover, jetboat, or plane. The operation deliberately avoids crowded combat-fishing spots and keeps one guide for every two to three anglers.
