Thorne Bay Lodge, operated by Brent Dickinson on the east side of Prince of Wales Island, offers hunting packages built around the island's two marquee species: Sitka blacktail deer in October and November when the rut peaks, and coastal black bear in late May through mid-June when bears are most active along the shorelines.
