About Alaska Backcountry Fishing Lodge

Alaska Backcountry Fishing Lodge is owned by Ryan and Heather Twitchell in Port Alsworth, on Lake Clark 160 miles southwest of Anchorage. Ryan grew up in Port Alsworth watching floatplanes head out on fishing trips, worked as a journeyman carpenter and floatplane pilot, and spent eight years as a U.S. Army UH-60 Blackhawk crew chief and flight instructor. Heather, a U.S. Military Academy graduate, flew Army helicopters in Alaska and manages the lodge's day-to-day operations.

The Alaskan-owned lodge runs fly-out fishing for trophy rainbow trout and salmon across the Bristol Bay watershed, plus rafting, lodging, and adventure tours in Lake Clark and Katmai National Park country.
