Alaska Elite Outfitters

Alaska Elite Outfitters was founded by Mike Vanstrom, who was born and raised on a farm in southeast Minnesota, moved to Alaska in 2002, began packing that year, and started guiding in 2004. The site says he has led hundreds of hunters and anglers through the Alaskan wilderness, with many repeat clients.

The operation sits on the Nushagak River in Bristol Bay's Unit 17, about 300 miles southwest of Anchorage, and focuses on king and silver salmon with rainbow trout fishing also available. A new three-bedroom lodge was added in 2024, and both fully guided and self-guided trips are offered.
