About Alaskan Escape

Alaskan Escape is a self-guided operation in Thorne Bay on Prince of Wales Island. Guests stay at one of four properties — Ben's Point, Eagle's Roost, Two Goose, and the Deer Island complex — and run their own boats: 16-foot Lund skiffs with 40-horse Yamahas, with a 22-foot Hewescraft cabin boat with heater available as an upgrade.

The menu is broad: all five salmon species, halibut, black cod, lingcod, and rockfish, plus Dungeness crab, scallops, and sea cucumbers, with hunting and foraging options as well. Everything is self-guided by design, though the operation will recommend local professional guides for those who want one.

Background as described by the operator on their own website.
