About Favorite Bay Lodge

Favorite Bay Lodge has operated in Angoon, the Tlingit village on Admiralty Island, since 2001. The lodge keeps things small — ten rooms and no more than 20 guests — with all-inclusive stays covering floatplane transfers, meals, guided fishing, boats and gear, fish processing, kayaking, and wildlife tours. Guests fish the protected waters of Kootznoowoo Inlet for all five Pacific salmon species, halibut, and Dolly Varden.

General manager Kimberly first arrived as a guest in 2004 and has run the lodge since 2005; Jerry, who designed and built the facility, has 25 seasons there after careers as a general contractor and commercial fisherman. The guide crew includes Tlingit and third-generation Angoon locals, and the lodge operates under a US Forest Service special use permit in the Tongass, describing its approach as luxury without pretense.
