Cantwell, Alaska

Cantwell sits at the western end of the Denali Highway — 135 miles of gravel road that traverses some of Alaska's best road-accessible hunting country. Caribou from the Nelchina herd roam the tundra, and trophy moose inhabit the river drainages. Grayling fishing is excellent in the upper Nenana River and Brushkana Creek. The Denali Highway opens to vehicles in late May and closes in October.
