Blue Ice Alaska Charters

Blue Ice Alaska Charters is a family-run Seward operation founded in 2021 by Captain Mike, who fishes alongside his son Michael — "Captain Bub" — a trained captain who started fishing as a boy. The outfit runs two boats: the Yanichka, a 32-foot Ed Wing custom hull, and the Salty Loot, a 34-foot Armstrong catamaran landing craft.

Trips run five to ten hours for halibut, salmon, lingcod, and rockfish, with wildlife and glacier viewing and water taxi service also offered. Groups top out at six anglers, and the family puts safety and tailored trips first.
