L60M Sportfishing

L60M Sportfishing (Latitude 60 Marine) is run by Captain Terence "Terry" Mangold, who holds a 1,600-ton USCG Master license and has spent more than 30 years sport fishing out of Seward after moving to Alaska from the East Coast in the early 1990s. His marine background spans commercial fishing, yachting, research and tourism work, and he is also a published marine mammal researcher, naturalist and photographer.

The boat is Keep It Reel, a 37-foot Peregrine Marine aluminum six-pack with twin 300 hp Yamahas. Mangold specializes in salmon — light-tackle mooching for silvers and downrigger trolling for kings, with custom terminal tackle and hand-tied leaders — April through September, with an approach he sums up as honest-effort fishing and respect for the ocean resource.
