Puffin Fishing Charters

Puffin Fishing Charters has been guiding salmon and halibut trips out of Seward for more than 25 years, working Resurrection Bay and the Gulf of Alaska from a four-boat fleet. Capt. Nate Smith of the Tenacious was raised in Montana and spent 15 years crab fishing in the Bering Sea; Capt. Eric Higbee of the Sorceress started as a 13-year-old deckhand and has more than 20 years guiding from Seward; Capt. Manny runs the Huntress after offshore years in Hawaii; and Capt. Andrew Waldo of the Offshore Hunter came to Alaska in 2013 as a fisheries technician and worked as a state fisheries biologist. The office is anchored by Dora, retired from Alaska Fish & Game. Trips are pitched as safe and family-friendly for all experience levels — kings, silvers, halibut, rockfish, and combos.
