One-hunter-at-a-time grizzly, brown bear, sheep, and goat camps across Interior Alaska and Kodiak, run by Master Guide Jake Jefferson.

Black River Hunting Camps is the family-run operation of Master Guide Jake Jefferson, who has been guiding hunters since he was 19 and whose work has been featured in Bear Hunting Magazine, Professional Hunter Magazine, Outdoor Life, and on TV. The outfit hunts grizzly in the Talkeetna Mountains and Interior, black bear in the Interior, and Kodiak brown bear on the island's eastern shore, plus Dall sheep, mountain goat, and Sitka blacktail deer, with combo hunts available.
Camps are non-smoking and alcohol-free, and Jefferson takes one hunter at a time so each trip can be shaped around the client.
Background as described by the operator on their own website.
Alaska hunting seasons vary significantly by Game Management Unit and species. Confirm current seasons with ADF&G and book well in advance — quality outfitters fill 6–18 months ahead for peak species. Non-residents must be accompanied by a licensed guide or qualifying Alaska resident for most big game species.
