About Grizzly Expeditions

Grizzly Expeditions is run by Jim Tilton, who arrived in Alaska in 1981 as an 18-year-old, hunted and fished the state for decades, and began operating as a guide in 2017. The outfit runs fully guided, fair-chase big game hunts in Game Management Unit 19, working from remote spike camps reached by floatplane.

Moose is the specialty — the outfit focuses on 60-inch-plus Yukon moose — alongside grizzly and brown bear and caribou hunts, with black bear, wolf, and wolverine also available. Hunts are spot-and-stalk, with months of planning before clients fly in.
