Eric Loomis grew up on a family farm in Quincy, Washington, ran his first guide business hunting ducks and geese in the Columbia Basin, then moved north and started his Alaska guide service in 2001 on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers. King salmon fishing on the Kenai is, by his telling, his life's calling.
The operation runs Kenai River salmon and trout trips, Cook Inlet saltwater fishing, fly-outs, bear viewing, and a seasonal Nushagak fishing camp, with a family-heavy guide team — including his cousin Sierra Carlson and longtime guide Ryan Rosenbaum — that counts nearly 100 years of combined Alaska guiding.
