The King Ko Inn traces its history to around 1950, when Edwin Seiler opened the Skytel in King Salmon; new owners including John Koropp and Eddie Oakes bought and remodeled it in 1971, with Oakes suggesting the King Ko name. A major renovation in 1995 brought the current lodge, which pairs rooms with a restaurant and a saloon known for live entertainment.
