About Land's End Resort

Land's End sits at the very tip of the Homer Spit, on ground first acquired by Chuck Abbot using Civil War script. Earl Hillstrand bought the property in 1958 and built the first version of the resort — the original bunkhouse was hauled in from the Mt. Ohlson Nike missile site — and after the 1964 Good Friday earthquake he raised the structure on gravel dug from the new boat harbor.

Jon and Sara Faulkner bought the resort in 1988 and turned it into a year-round destination, adding a commercial kitchen and a 225-person conference room in 1995 and, later, 20 waterfront lodges. Today it offers beachfront rooms, staterooms, and townhomes, with the Chart Room Restaurant serving breakfast and dinner daily.
