Tutka Bay Lodge

Tutka Bay Lodge sits at the entrance of a nine-mile fjord on the south shore of Kachemak Bay, a 25-minute boat ride from Homer and reachable only by water taxi or floatplane. The family-run retreat has six private cabins on 35 acres surrounded by Kachemak Bay State Park, and is part of the Within the Wild family of lodges.

The kitchen is central to the operation — a team of five chefs, including Michelin-trained and James Beard-recognized talent, cooks with ingredients foraged that morning, and the lodge runs cooking classes. Days are built around tailored guided adventures, with a helicopter based at the lodge for glacier treks and mountain-stream fly fishing, and Katmai bear viewing and glacier flightseeing within reach.
