About Silverking Charters

Silverking Lodge is a self-guided fishing lodge near Ketchikan founded by Kirk Thomas, who arrived in town washing floatplanes on the docks, eventually bought the floatplane business, then took over a floating fish camp called Fish-On Village, renamed it Silverking Lodge, and moved it to its beach site in 1993. Kirk owns it with partners the Ruth and Olson families, his children and grandchildren now work throughout the operation, and capacity has grown from 16 guests to 38.

Guests fish for salmon and halibut on their own from 14-foot Livingston skiffs, with 20-foot covered boats available as an upgrade — a self-guided model rather than a captained charter.
