Yes Bay Lodge is a remote, floatplane-access lodge on Yes Bay north of Ketchikan, run by the Hack family. The main building began construction in the mid-1950s — originally intended as a casino before statehood ended those plans — and opened as a lodge in 1977, becoming one of Southeast Alaska's first successful sportfishing lodges. The bay takes its name from the Tlingit word 'yaas,' for blue mussel, and held a salmon cannery as far back as 1887.
Today the lodge runs all-inclusive packages: guided saltwater and freshwater fishing with two to four anglers per boat, chef-prepared meals, private baths, fish processing and shipping, plus guided hikes and eco-tours.
