Coffman Cove, Alaska

Coffman Cove occupies the northeastern corner of Prince of Wales Island, where the waters of Clarence Strait and Dry Pass converge. Silver (coho) salmon, king salmon, halibut, lingcod, and rockfish fill the surrounding straits, while the old-growth forest behind town holds some of Southeast Alaska's best Sitka blacktail deer hunting and spring black bear opportunities. The community is served by the Inter-Island Ferry Authority and has a well-developed network of forest roads giving hunters and anglers road access to remote drainages. A handful of dedicated lodges and self-guided outfitters have operated here for decades.
