Katmai Wilderness Lodge

Katmai Wilderness Lodge runs small-group brown bear viewing deep in Katmai National Park's 4.6 million acres of wilderness, reached only by floatplane. Groups are capped at six guests per guide, trading viewing platforms and crowds for quiet, guided time with the bears, with private cabins and meals from the lodge's own chef.

The lodge is managed by Ian and Nancy Beaumont, both with deep remote-expedition backgrounds: Ian has guided remote country for over two decades, has more than 2,500 days at sea, and instructs Wilderness First Responder courses, while Nancy is a USCG-licensed captain and wilderness EMT who teaches wilderness medicine. Lead guide Ethan Brodey is also a USCG captain with over a decade guiding in Alaska.
