Thorne Bay sits on the eastern shore of Prince of Wales Island — the largest island in Alaska and third-largest in the United States. Once the world's largest logging camp, it's now a road-accessible sportsman's paradise. Sitka blacktail deer hunting is among the best in Alaska, with generous bag limits and accessible terrain. Spring black bear hunting is equally productive. Saltwater charters venture out to Clarence Strait for halibut, king salmon, coho, lingcod, and yelloweye rockfish.
