This charter runs from Juneau out to the nutrient-rich waters of Icy Strait, where strong tidal currents concentrate king and coho salmon and flat-bottom halibut ground sits within practical reach. Icy Strait is famously productive—a 482-pound halibut was landed there in 2014—and humpback whales are a frequent sighting along the route. The longer transit from Juneau compared to Hoonah-based operators is offset by access to multiple species in a single day.
